From UNDP: The Get Airports Ready for Disaster (GARD) programme is a joint initiative between UNDP and Deutsche Post DHL. Given the critical role that airports play in delivering emergency goods and services following a disaster, GARD focuses on increasing the capacities of airport staff to manage the sudden increase in air traffic, goods and personnel typical in a post-disaster period. As of July 2014, GARD has trained over 430 people across 24 airports in Armenia, Bangladesh, El Salvador, Lebanon, Nepal, Panama, Peru, the Philippines and Turkey.
